Brief Introduction · Session Chair Manshang Wang is long-term engaged in the construction of new-type power systems as well as research and engineering application of energy storage technologies. He has presided over multiple open projects of the State Key Laboratory of Operation and Control of New Power Systems, Jiangsu talent support programs, and science-and-technology projects of State Grid Corporation of China. He has been awarded the Jiangsu May-1st Labor Medal, Jiangsu "333 Project" High-level Talent, and Industrial Professor of Jiangsu Province. He has won many scientific and technological awards including the First Prize of Electric Power Innovation Award of CSEE. He has repeatedly served as speaker in IEEE and CSEE conferences.
Scope & Topics CFP

Against the background of carbon-peaking and carbon-neutrality goals, distribution networks witness massive integration of diverse distributed resources, with distributed energy storage as the core, including distributed photovoltaics, V2G electric vehicles, and flexible controllable loads. These resources are geographically dispersed with multi-stakeholder ownership and diverse dynamic characteristics, which introduce severe challenges such as voltage violations, feeder congestion and spatiotemporal source-load imbalance. Effective aggregation, coordinated regulation and optimal planning of distributed resources become critical for improving distribution-system flexibility and local renewable-energy accommodation.

This special session focuses on distribution-network flexible distributed resources centered on distributed energy storage. It brings together latest theoretical advances and engineering practices from universities, power research institutes and industry. Topics cover aggregation modelling, coordinated control, planning configuration, market mechanism, intelligent algorithms and practical demonstrations. This session intends to provide theoretical and technical support for large-scale, safe and efficient deployment of distributed resources in novel distribution networks.

📌 Topics of Interest:

  • 1. Modelling, sizing and planning of distribution-side / station-level distributed energy storage
  • 2. Aggregation modelling and coordinated regulation of multi-type distributed resources (energy storage, V2G, flexible loads, distributed PV)
  • 3. Distributed resources for distribution-network voltage support, congestion management, demand response and source-grid-load-storage coordinated scheduling
  • 4. Market trading, benefit allocation and business models for distributed resources with multiple stakeholders
  • 5. AI, digital twin and data-driven algorithms for state perception, optimal scheduling and fault diagnosis of distributed resources
  • 6. Demonstration projects, test-bed validation and standardization practice for distributed-resource clusters
